We are truly blessed to have the terroir at our Estate Vineyard, Destiny Ridge, to grow not only the bold classic Bordeaux varietals but the rich and rare Rhone-style varieties as well. This Rhone red is blended and produced exclusively for our Wine Club Members. Each year our Alexandria Nicole Cellars winemaking team sits down with our Wine Club Members to taste with them and teach them the art of blending. They are then given the reigns and freedom to create their own blend. All blends go toe to toe in a tasting competition, judged by the ANC staff, where only 1 member emerges as the Wine Club Blending Champion. This year’s champion, Cindy White, delivered a beautifully balanced wine that delivers powerful aromatics and structure upfront but gives way to a long, elegant finish. Heavily Syrah-based, this wine brings dark notes of blackberry and cocoa with the Grenache lending fresh raspberry and plum. The dash of Mourvedre helps accentuate a nice spice note on the finish.
