The 2017 vintage started out with a much cooler and wetter winter with more snowfall than we had seen in the previous few vintages. Spring followed suit which led to a sizeable delay in bud break. July and August came with above-average temperatures helping to speed up the ripening process, letting us start harvest around the same time as the previous hot vintage. The 2017 Alderdale Cabernet Sauvignon picked from our esteemed Block 5 is sure to please the crowd. Rich aromatics of ripe blackberry, cassis, raspberry, cedar, and mocha are layered throughout the wine. A velvety tannin profile lends to a well-structured palate showing more blackberry, black raspberry, cocoa and plum. Enjoy this with your favorite cut of meat fresh off the grill.
