2014 Petit Verdot
Our Estate Grown Petit Verdot is truly the oxymoron the name suggest. In the vineyard the Petit Verdot vines carry open clusters and tiny berries that when looking at them one would think had been water stressed and abused through the growing season. Nothing could be further from the truth, these tiny little gems open up and make some of our most elegant and rich wines we have. The mouth is full of velvet softness with bold, explosive dark fruit, leather and plum. Aromatics of rose pedals, violet and chocolate with hints of cedar and vanilla. Finishing with well balance acids and soft, integrated tannins. Don’t be misled by its name; “Little Big Man”, while in the vineyard appears weak and frail,in the bottle this is a big and bold wine that can hold up to any meal with grilled meats, spicy pork, veal, lamb, wild boar or even pork belly. While it is drinking well now, this wine will only benefit from some cellaring time. If consuming prior to 2018, please decant.
