This estate grown gem is a rare look into a Rhone varietal that is not widely produced in Washington State. This is one of our smaller releases that goes entirely to our wine club members. Counoise is a spicy beast and can dominate any blend it is utilized in, with aromatic, notes of dried Herbs and black pepper, black currants, blueberries, and a touch of toasted pine nuts. The light use of French oak barrels creates a harmonious layer of tannins to help temper the heavy spice on the front palate at first sip. Medium in body, the bright acidity keeps the balance of bold aromatics match up to dramatic and long lasting finish allowing this Counoise to drink well now or through 2020.
